Monday Night Swing Dance Events @ SA Firefighters Banquet Hall (doors open at 6:30 pm​

  • 13th of October- DJ Jonathan will be spinning the hits for the night. Celebrating October Birthdays in the Jam Circle! DJ night is perfect for requesting a dance assessment from your teachers. Come out for a night of social dancing and bring snacks to share!

  • 20th of October- LIVE performance by Vintage Ties! Potluck night, please bring some of your favorite dishes and snack to share as we socialize and dance the night away!

  • 27th of October- Spooky scary Halloween Party! LIVE performance by Little Henry & the Laveers! Go all out and dress in your favorite frightening costumes and raise the dead on the dance floor!    Potluck night, bring your favorite undead dishes and spooky snacks to share as dance till the clock strikes 10pm!

October Monday Night Classes:

Arrive early. Classes start promptly at 7 pm.

  • East Coast 1(Intro to Swing)-Taught by Leslie & Ellie. This 6-count dance is where it all starts! This class is available every Monday night. East Coast 1 is perfect if you are new to swing dancing and want to begin your dance journey and solidify your basics. This class will cover the main fundamentals to swing dancing such as basic posture, pulsing, weight transferring & core engagement

  • Charleston-Taught by Ale & Thomas. Continue leaning and get your kicks with this fast paced variation dance! Originally a solo dance, can be added to partnered dance, east coast swing, and lindyhop! Ideal for fast songs and upbeat tempos.

  • Balboa-Taught by Andrea & Ed. Different to East Coast swing, this course is still a beginner course to another variation of swing dance. As a branch of Swing it bears certain similarities to the Lindy Hop and Charleston, however its close connection between partners, and small defined footwork to faster paced songs distinguishes this dance as the most elegant and sophisticated of the partnered Swing dances.
